OUR PROGRAM
The FTC – CyberJEM program offers a practical learning experience for young women interested in STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) and robotics. STEM concepts are learned and utilized in the planning, designing, building, programming, and operating of a robot for competing in tournament style play with others in alliances. Each alliance competes to receive ranking points which ultimately determines the best robot in design, efficiency, and performance. However, the emphasis is not just on building a winning robot; rather greater emphasis is placed on developing the skills of collaboration, creativity and compassion. We want to help young people thrive in and positively contribute to a world of technology. We also expect to create student mentors that will pass along knowledge and skills to the next generation of CyberJEM STEM students.
Community
We are committed to completing as much outreach as possible. We strive to spread our enthusiasm for STEM and FIRST to as many schools/communities as possible, and to serve others by volunteering in our community.
We are seeking funding to establish our team and compete in the 2025-2026 FIRST Tech Challenge, where teams of high school students, guided by adult mentors, collaborate to design, fabricate, build, and drive robots for annual competitive games.
Engaging in FTC presents an incredible opportunity for students, mentors, and sponsors alike. However, active participation demands substantial resources. To build a sustainable team that empowers Villa students to achieve remarkable feats, both within and beyond the realm of FIRST, we aim to raise $20,000. We firmly believe that anyone can play a pivotal role, not solely through financial support, but also by offering guidance, mentorship, and inspiration if you're willing to partner with us.
Every dollar donated will bring us one step closer to forming a competitive team, as well as inspiring future female scientists and engineers. Enclosed, you'll find a detailed sponsorship form outlining various levels of support. Kindly complete the form and submit it along with your gift. Please note that your donation is tax-deductible.
